When people call our Round Rock office, they usually talk to me first. I’m Marisol, and I started Bluebonnet Ridge Painting in 2012. Once a job is booked, the person you’ll see most is Owen Callahan. Owen leads our in-house crew for Round Rock and the rest of Williamson County, and every job we do runs through him.

I want to introduce him properly, because he’s a big part of why our work holds up and why our Round Rock customers keep calling us back.

## Why We Keep Every Crew In-House

Before I started this company, I spent ten years as a commercial painting foreman. I saw a lot of jobs handed off to subcontractors who’d never met the customer and never would again. Sometimes the work was fine. Sometimes it wasn’t. Either way, nobody on site really owned the result.

When I started Bluebonnet Ridge, I made a simple rule: **no subcontractors.** Every painter who works on your Round Rock home or business works for us. They’re trained in our process, covered by our workers’ comp and accountable to us.

That rule only works if someone is responsible for every crew on every job. In Round Rock, that someone is Owen. He lives in Round Rock, so he can run an estimate in Teravista in the morning and a walkthrough in Behrens Ranch in the afternoon without crossing county lines.

## What Owen Actually Does

Owen’s job title is crew lead, but here’s what that looks like on a typical Round Rock project.

**He runs the prep.** Our whole approach is prep-first. On an exterior that means pressure washing, scraping loose paint, caulking open joints and priming bare spots before a drop of topcoat goes on. Inside, it means patching settlement cracks (common in Round Rock on clay-soil lots), sanding, priming repairs and protecting floors and furniture. Owen makes sure every step in your written scope actually happens, in the right order, and isn’t rushed. If you want to know why we care so much about this part, our guide on

why surface prep matters

[/guide/why-surface-prep-matters/ →](/guide/why-surface-prep-matters/)

 explains it.

**He’s your point of contact on site.** If you have a question during the job, or want to change something, you talk to Owen. He knows what’s in your quote, what’s been done and what’s next.

**He keeps the site clean.** Daily cleanup is part of every job we do. Owen makes sure tools are put away, walkways are cleared and rooms you need are usable at the end of each day.

**He does the final walkthrough.** At the end of every job, Owen walks the house or business space with you. You point out anything that isn’t right, and the crew fixes it before they pack up.

## What You Can Expect When Owen’s on Your Round Rock Job

I asked Owen what he’d want every customer to know before his crew shows up. Here’s the gist of what he said, in plain terms.

- **We’ll show up when we say we will.** If weather or anything else changes the plan, you’ll hear from us early. We watch summer afternoon storms and heat forecasts carefully.
- **We’ll protect your stuff first.** Floors, furniture, plants, cars and anything else that isn’t getting painted gets covered before we open a can.
- **We’ll do the boring parts properly.** Prep isn’t exciting, but it’s what makes paint last under a Round Rock summer with 96-plus-degree highs.
- **We’ll tell you if we find something.** Rotten trim, a settlement crack that looks structural, a leak behind a stain. You’ll hear about it before anything gets covered up.
- **We’ll leave it clean.** Every day, not just the last day.

## How the Prep-First Process Plays Out Day to Day

Here’s a quick look at how an exterior job typically flows with Owen running the crew in Round Rock:

| Stage | What Owen’s crew does |
| --- | --- |
| Day one | Protect plants, walkways and windows. Pressure wash the house. |
| Prep days | Scrape loose paint, sand edges, caulk joints, spot prime bare wood and repairs. |
| Painting days | Two finish coats, following the shade around the house to beat the afternoon sun. |
| Each evening | Clean up, clear walkways, secure ladders and materials. |
| Last day | Final walkthrough with you, touch-ups, full cleanup. |

Interior jobs follow the same idea: protect, prep, paint, clean up daily and walk through at the end. Our guide on

what to expect during a painting project

 covers it in more detail.

## Why This Matters to You

A painting quote is only as good as the people who show up to do the work. Our fixed written quotes list every prep step, coat and product. Our 3-year workmanship warranty backs it up. The reason I’m comfortable putting all of that in writing is that I know who’s running the job here in Round Rock.

Owen and our crew work across Round Rock, Pflugerville, Georgetown, Hutto, Cedar Park, Leander, Taylor and north Austin. Whether it’s a full exterior repaint,

## Say Hi When You See Him

If you’ve already worked with us, you’ve probably met Owen. If you haven’t yet, you will. He’s the one checking tape lines before anyone opens a can of paint, and the last one to leave after the walkthrough.
